Bordeaux Graves Sauternes
Wine and History Tour

"Bordeaux Wine and history tour in Bordeaux"

Bordeaux exceptional heritage and Bordeaux exceptional wine

Welcome to the region at the origin of the great wines of Bordeaux! During this exceptional day you’ll learn a lot about the history of the city of Bordeaux and Aquitaine, including the most important stages of its development: its Roman period, its belonging to Kingdom of France and Kingdom of England, and the 18 th century, when Bordeaux became the city you can see today... Then, in the afternoon you’ll admire its oldest viticultural landscapes.

Start your day by a walking tour through the city of Bordeaux, listed by the UNESCO in 2007.

Admire its majestic architecture, imagine the city in the Medieval Ages, wander through its old squares and streets, take selfies on the Water Mirror fountain… Then, after a lunch at a local gourmet restaurant in the city center, go to the south from the city. The city’s first vineyards were planted more than 2000 years ago on the southern outskirts of Bordeaux, in Graves and Sauternes.

Graves and Sauternes
Wine Tour

Depending on the day and your desire, you can ask for a restaurant reservation in Graves. You will absolutely love the cuisine of these local (and selected!) restaurants. This region is now home to Grands Crus Classés and includes châteaux that have received the Kings of Navarre and Queen Margot, the birth place of the philosopher Montesquieu, and
fortresses built by Pope Clement V…

Up to you. You can choose for a visit and tasting one of authentic Grands Crus Classés of Graves, like Château Smith Haut Lafitte, Château Carbonnieux, Château Malartic-Lagravière. Or discover the magic flavours of our “liquid gold” - Sauternes wines, classified at the same time – in 1855, that the mythic Medoc wines. Among them the most known are Château d’Yquem, Château La Tour Blanche, Château Lafaurie Peyraguey…

Finish your day with a private visit of a Medieval Castle! This impressive castle was built in the beginning of the 14 th century and it still belongs to the same family! You’ll be welcomed by the owner himself who’ll made for you a very private visit after closure. A glass of his white wine produced on the property will finish this beautiful day!
